Boots on the Ground Volunteer Volunteer shifts are available Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 10am to 12pm. Duties Include: Picking up poop Stripping shelters Washing and refilling water dishes Cleaning feed dishes Animal health exams Sorting produce for the animals Yard work Gardening
Expectations An understanding that you will be working with animals who may have behavioural or medical issues. To wear steel-toed shoes or boots after the completion of your "shadow" shift. Commitment of a minimum of two shifts a month, of 2 hours each. Completion of our "Liability Waiver" and "Media Release" forms. Being prepared to get dirty and to come rain or shine. Completion of two character reference checks. Ensuring safety rules are followed at all times.

Volunteer Application Process:
1. Complete our Volunteer Application - Apply Here 2. Completion of two character reference checks. 3. Application will be reviewed for approval by our Volunteer Coordinator. 4. Read and sign off on our Volunteer Manual. 5. Become A Home for Hooves annual member - $25/year 5. We have a Facebook Volunteer page used for all communications. 6. Complete a shadow shift and orientation if applicable.
Please note - anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult for all volunteer shifts.
