Boots on the Ground Volunteer Volunteer Shifts are: Mondays 10 am to 6 pm Tuesdays 12 pm to 6 pm Thursdays 12 pm to 6 pm Saturdays at 10 am to 6 pm
Please be aware that we stream the Sanctuary live on Twitch TV so you will be on camera.
Duties Include: Picking up poop Stripping shelters Washing and refilling water dishes Cleaning feed dishes Animal health exams Sorting produce for the animals Yard work Gardening
Expectations An understanding that you will be working with animals who have behavioural or medical issues. Wear steel-toed shoes or boots after the completion of your "shadow" shift. Commitment of a minimum of two shifts a month of 2 hours each. Completion of our "Liability Waiver" and "Media Release" forms. Being prepared to get dirty and to come rain or shine. Completion of two character reference checks. Ensuring safety rules are followed at all times.
Remote Volunteer Can't volunteer at the Sanctuary, but still want to help out? Then you can help remotely.
Duties Include: Grant Applications Event Planning Donor Management Administration Tasks Writing Social Media
Volunteer Application Process:
1. Complete our Volunteer Application - Apply Here 2. Completion of two character reference checks. 3. Application will be reviewed for approval by our Volunteer Coordinator. 4. Read and sign off on our Volunteer Manual. 5. Become A Home for Hooves annual member - $25/year 5. We have a Facebook Volunteer page used for all communications. 6. Complete a shadow shift and orientation if applicable.
Please note - anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied with an adult for all volunteer shifts.
