can i visit the sanctuary outside of a scheduled tour?
Yes, private tours can be pre-arranged, but they are dependent on availability. Please contact us at [email protected] to make arrangements.
How much does it cost to attend a tour?
Children 12 and under are $10 each, and everyone else is $20 each.
CAn i bring a companion animal?
No, in order to ensure the safety of the sanctuary animals and other sanctuary guests all companion animals cannot attend the sanctuary. Exemptions may be made for service animals. Please contact us at [email protected] for discussion.
how long are the tours?
Tours are approximately 2 hours long. The sanctuary is located on 40 acres, so please plan to wear suitable footwear as there will be a fair amount of walking.
can i feed the animals?
You may bring food for the animals to eat, but they cannot be fed without express permission and guidance from your sanctuary tour guide. Some of the animals favourite foods include apples, bananas, melons, carrots, pineapple, and cucumber. If you bring food with pits in it, the pits must be removed prior to bringing this item to the sanctuary.
Can i bring food for myself, family, or friends to consume?
Yes, but out of respect for the animals under our care we ask that all food that is consumed on sanctuary grounds be plant-based (vegan). NON-vegan food includes meat, eggs, dairy, honey, etc.
are the tours child friendly?
Yes, your tour guide will ensure that any stories or information shared is appropriate for the age of the child in attendance. Please ensure that your child is well behaved during the tour this includes no yelling, running, or petting the animals without permission.
are the tours accessible to individuals with disabilities?
Many areas of the sanctuary are accessible with a wheelchair or walker, but not all. Also, please note that the only bathrooms available are composting toilets which will require an individual to step onto a step in order to sit on the toilet.
can i pet the animals?
The sanctuary is not a petting zoo and interaction with the animals is limited to their comfort level. Some animals do enjoy human affection, but many do not. The animals who do enjoy affection can be touched with permission and guidance from your tour guide.
